Episode #7 Joel Toussaint – The Power of Persistence, Growing up in Haiti, and Simplifying Mathematics

Joel Toussaint is a public speaker, engineer, tutor of math and physics, and one of the most purpose-driven people that I’ve ever gotten the chance to talk with. He was born in Haiti and moved to the U.S at age 23 with the goal of becoming an engineer. While he was still learning to speak the language he worked a series of blue-collar jobs and saved up enough money to put himself through college. He graduated from Georgia Tech with a master’s degree and began working in engineering.

From there, he discovered a passion for public speaking. Joel recognizes the power that great speakers have to teach and to inspire large groups of people to take action. He has a very unique perceptive to share from living in Haiti and the U.S and he is able to extract some really valuable life lessons from both experiences.

In this episode, we discuss the potential future of Haiti, a topic that Joel is very passionate about. One of his main goals is to use public speaking to help unite the people of Haiti and show the world all of the incredible things their nation is capable of.

We also discuss future technological innovations that may help change the way we all live.

In this episode, Joel breaks down his approach to studying math and physics and shares how he is able to simplify what would normally seem complicated, which is a skill that can be applied to any difficult task that you’re perusing.

As usual, I have my co-host Kya Lian joining us in his episode. Hope you enjoy it.

Episode #4 Jo Erickson – Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Family Constellation Therapy, and Near-Death Experience

Jo Erickson is an incredibly gifted teacher, life couch, and alternative therapist that I’ve personally learned a lot from over the years. Jo is an internationally trained NLP practitioner. If you’re not familiar with the term NLP is stands for Neuro-Linguistic Programming and it’s a method that uses langue to reprogram some of the negative behaviors and thoughts patterns that have been ingrained into us over the chorus of our lives and may show up as depression, anxiety, phobias, and even physical illnesses that are brought on by mental stress.

She is also the lead director of the life learning center in Royal oak Michigan where she practices family constellation therapy. The concept behind family constellation is that every family has patterns that have been ingrained into that family over the chorus of generations and continue to play out over and over again. These patterns create roles that each new family member falls into. For example this may show up as the oldest child who tries to take care of everyone or the child who’s treated as the scape goat for everyone else’s frustrations. If you’ve ever felt like there’s a voice in your head that’s constantly critiquing every move you make or if you find yourself making choices that seem out of character for you but just seem to happen on autopilot these family patterns may have a lot to do with it. Family constellation suggests that that voice in your head doesn’t even belong to you but is sort of a collection other peoples thoughts opinion’s that gets past down to you through these family patterns.

Jo has gotten some really incredible results with both of these practices that you’ll have the chance to hear about in this episode. We learned a lot from this conversation and I hope you get as much out of it as we did.

Episode #3 Katherine Vergin – The Power of Discomfort, Reprogramming Negative Beliefs, and Being of Service

I’d best describe Katherine Vergin as a multi-talented renaissance woman. She is a musician, writer, professional make-up artist and is now currently in medical school studying to become a doctor after discovering a new-found passion for helping others through the medical field. Once you sit down and talk with Katherine you quickly realize that she’s an incredibly deep thinker and sort of a modern-day philosopher.

I’ve wanted to do a podcast with Katherine ever since I worked with her on a music video project a while back. The purpose of the video was to showcase four real people who have overcome fear in their lives and who didn’t let fear limit the possibility of what their lives could become. Katherine was one of the stories that we showcased. After filming the video, we shot a behind-the-scenes interview with her where she got to share some of her thoughts and experiences in her own words. Due to the format of that project we had to cut the interview videos down to around ten minutes, but we had recorded her for over an hour. Everyone involved in the video creation was uplifted and inspired by Katherine’s words and it left us wanting to know more. This podcast was our way of capturing the energy and impact that we felt while working with Katherine.

Episode #2: Nick Bastianelli (Co-Founder of Rise Athletics) – Physical and Mental Health, Over Coming Addiction, Entrepreneurship, and Family

Nick Bastianelli is the co-founder of Rise Athletics, a CrossFit based training company with two locations in the Metro-Detroit area – one in Farmington Hills and another in Ferndale, Michigan.

When it comes to overcoming obstacles Nick has done this in a number of really big ways. I was inspired to reach out to him for this episode after witnessing his authenticity and fearlessness when it comes to giving people a completely unfiltered look into his story and how he got to
where he is today.

A lot of fitness trainers and entrepreneurs that you see online have a tendency to make themselves look like super humans who are constantly motivated and always on fire. They can be difficult to relate to because they never show the human side to their story. Nick, on the other hand, is a completely open book when it comes to his past struggles as well as the day-to-day challenges that he still faces now – all of which show up in our wide-ranging conversation where we discuss the challenges of his early youth, overcoming an addiction to drugs and alcohol, turning his dream of owning a gym into a reality, starting a family as an entrepreneur and everything in-between. Episode #1 Archetypal Images, First Person Guided Meditation Recap, and Unconditional Human Compassion

Welcome to the first ever episode of the Limitless Future Podcast. On this episode show host, Alex Suttle sits down with his two co-hosts Kya Liann and Andy Loria to recap and discuss an intense guided meditation that he recently took part in that shifted his perspective on the fear of death, the ability to be compassionate towards people who you strongly disagree with, as well as the ability to stay calm and collected in the middle of extremely stressful or even traumatic situations.

The method used in this guided meditation is referred to as “Regenerating Images in Memory” and was created by Dr. Deb Sandella.  The specific version of this practice Alex took part in and recaps on this episode is called “Archetypal Images”.
